“Look at us, crying like a couple of girls on the last day of camp.”

Considering this site is named after a line from the funniest television show in history (yes, even funnier than the golden years of The Simpsons. There, I finally said it), I assume you all have been following the movie version of Arrested Development that they are planning for release next year. Jeffrey Tambor, aka George Bluth Sr. confirmed the movie:

“After months of speculation, I think we have finally figured out for sure that we are indeed doing an Arrested Development movie,” Tambor told EW.com at the premiere of Hellboy II on Sunday. “I am very excited about that. I love that cast and crew and I felt like we had more to say.”

I have watched all 3 seasons of AD 4 or 5 times through and considering how dense a show it is (I mean that in a good way), there are still bits and pieces that I catch for the first time and still laugh my ass off at stuff I did the first time (Gob falling through the trap door of his coffin trick is still an all-time classic scene). But every time I get towards the end of the 3rd and final season I still get angry that a show like this couldn’t make it. Jason Bateman was right in all of his bitterness after the show ended that the show was too “smart” for the everyday television audience. Only with writing as brilliant as this show could the Bluths, a selfish, greedy, lying, and backstabbing family, come across as so lovable.

Thank God the whole cast is rewarding their die hard fans with a movie that may finally bring some closure to all of us who get to the last episode and always shout “COME ON!”
